A Busy Start to Spring.
Friday, April 17, 2009

MFD has been hopping and bopping, as my father-in-law likes to say. Since the last update, we've designed so many book jackets, record covers, posters and invitations that we can't list them all here. Instead, please allow us to offer you this small taste, and then direct you to the various pages where you can view all the new work in all its springtime glory.

For a closer look at the cover for Peter Straub's A Special Place as well as about 20 other new additions, check out the Books section.

Here's a poster we did last week for our friend Jesse Lee's reading. She plays the accordion. To get a closer look at this poster as well as four other new posters, head over to the Other Work section.

For a closer look at Sara & Tim's save the date card as well as some other new wedding invites, head over to the Other Work section as well.

Here's the logo for the new publicity/marketing firm Goldest Egg. To see a larger version as well as six other new identities, head over to the Identities section.

And finally, here's the cover for the newest Read To Me DVD collection. For a look at the inside as well as eight other new CD covers, head over to the CD Packaging section.

Robots + Lobsters = Love
Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Last week was a busy one in the sweatshop. We printed all three of these posters in as many days. We love all of them, but are especially proud of the four color print we made for Brent Goodman. When he told us he loved robots, we marched down to our local Toys R Us and picked up some Rockem Sockem Robots. After playing with them for a while, we photographed them in various positions and put them together. Check them all out below.

Pickles and Pasta.
Wednesday, February 25, 2009

In the Food section of today's New York Times, there is a nice juicy article about food in Brooklyn. This made us happy for a number of reasons. Number one, it features Jon Orren, friend and picklemaker. We did the logo and the labels for all of Jon's wonderful Wheelhouse Pickles, and it is lovely to see him recognized in such a way. Huzzah, Jon! The second reason is that the article also features the men behind Frankies 457, one of our favorite places in Brooklyn, and the site of our post-wedding party. Huzzah, Frank and Frank! It makes us want to get on an airplane for some pickles and pasta. Probably not together. We miss you, Brooklyn. We'll be back soon.
